Doug began his professional career as a commercial artist and graphic designer, winning an Emmy for his design work at Seattle’s KIRO TV in 1982. A year later, he established his own art studio, illustrating his first children’s picture book in 1985. Thirty years and 40-plus books later, he is well-established as an award-winning illustrator and creator of custom art installations. Today, Doug continues to branch out, the first book he’s authored and illustrated: The Storybook Prince was released in 2017. He also contracts with museums as a Preparator fabricating custom mannequins, mount making and artifact installation for major exhibits.
